You can't blame Citroen for the failure of a Bosch (yes, they're German!) component. Failures like that happen on all makes of car.

Bosch was also responsible for the airbag system in my Alfa, everything else has never let me down.

Being out money on any car is frustrating but to advise people to ever buy a Citroen is stupid. I put parts after parts in my Mini Cooper D; a BMW built car, while my mums 8 year old Citroen never needed anything more than a bulb, yet I don't advise people not to buy them lol. All cars have faults and they're going to happen whether there's 18k or 80k on them.
