I've just got back from my dealer due to a knocking noise front left. They have told me the car needs to go in for 3 days to strip down the shocks to investigate. On the paper work I've got they say it could be poss top rubber issue. I've only done 19k!!!

Has anyone had this issue with there DS3

Seems a bit excessive 3 days to look at shock absorbers? Not heard of that fault before either

I have, remember someone had it before long time ago, was the upper mount and another guy that had knocking, it was the anti roll bar link.

Either way 3 days is ridiculous can have the suspension stripped out and resembled in half a day!

What's the old saying French cars always fall apart!! I thought that was in the old days not on cars built these days. Anyway I will update you with what they find and do.

The engineers intent rather than the crap some underpaid frog put together in the factory.

As Cyclone says there have been a few issues on here with knocking on the front suspension, which is really only a piston pump and a big coil spring, and top mount
Why they need 3 days is beyond me. Check the spring isnt cracked, and the piston and mountings are OK. Shouldnt take long to inspect either
Replacement of parts not too expensive.

Mine had a knock, was the n/s top mount.

3 days to strip and investigate is bullshit. Make noise, speak with the service manager.

I have had this issue. My left front shock absorber started making Knocking sound at 55k km. Both front shocks were replaced in warranty.

Cars gone in today to have the shock issue done. I dropped the car off this morning at 9' I've just had a call saying can I come in tomorrow morning to show us the issue!!! What a joke they had it up on the ramps for 1 hour last time I went in and they told me they needed the car for 3 days due to an issue with the front left shock. Know they are telling me their isn't anything wrong this it. Advice please what do I do. It's a main dealer
