  • Just picked it up, fancy a remap

Hello to you all, I'm new to the site, looks like there's a lot of love out there for the DS3, and I have to say after picking ours up yesterday I can see why - brilliant little car. This is our first Citroen and it has come about from a change of circumstance, my missus has started her own new business and after 10 years of very nice BMW's we have had to cut our cloth. She wanted to go down a totally different path to generic 4 door German saloons (company cars) and so we find ourselves here. I have to say I'm happy with the decision and I know she is.

So we have gone for a used 12 plate D-sport 110 diesel. in all honesty it seems to go around corners nicer than the 3 series we have just let go, but I guess thats a small car with stiff suspension for you.

Quick question (tapping into the collective knowledge already!) I think I want to get a re-map carried out on it (I heard chips tuning boxes are a no go), there seems to be plenty of folk offering but I want to get it done properly, don't like the idea of my wife limping home in a mood one night!!!
I've seen good reports on the forums about Flashremapping & SP (Jason i think?) and a few others, any feedback on who is a pro outfit that won't cause me grief with either the car or the missus??

Many thanks in advance, looking forward to many happy hours on the forum

    Cheers y'all

For a DS3 remap don't go anywhere other than Jamie at SP Tuning (in my humble opinion). Jamie owns a DS3 and understands them inside out, I've never seen anyone report any problems with one of his remaps

Jamie is based in Hinckley, Leicestershire, for most it's a bit of a drive but the drive back is amazing You'll also have the peace of mind of a proper remap.

          Welcome to the club

As Chris says, Jamie at SP Tuning is the way to go. I've not personally had mine done (yet) but everyone I've spoken to that has been to visit him has had nothing but great things to say.

Here's a link to the 110 diesel so you know what gains to expect: SP Tuning. Forum members get a discount too, though I can't remember how much.

            Welcome to the club!

If I had a DS3 with an engine worth remapping, I'd not go anywhere else but SP Tuning based on all the positive feedback around the board

I've heard somewhere that some remap companies offer an insurance policy with their work incase it goes wrong and the warranty is voided

None of the ones I checked out (not back street garage type places) offered that - do you have the details of the remap centre that offers this ?

When I looked into this it seemed the biggest risk (if done by someone reputable like Jamie) was that a dealership ECU update as part of the service package would over write it and you'd lose the remap. Obviously if you had an issue with your DS3 and the dealership investigated and found the remap you'd have some explaining to do though.

Flashremapping offered replacing a remap if it was removed with a software upgrade at service, or whenever overwritten cancelling their map
This service is pretty simple when mapped from the OBD port, but when having to take the ECU out and remap on a bench, not sure theyd do that for nothing

Dont think they underwrite the warranty

Generally speaking remaps are only overwritten, rather than discovered, from what i can ascertain on this site
The trick is, not to get maps overwritten

Thanks for the welcomes and replies. So, being new to this, does the remap say on the car until I deem it un needed, will it need to be re done if the battery is replaced etc, and do you think long term it'll effect the cars ability to cover miles, expecting to put 60k on the car ?
