      Welcome to the Club Danny.
What model DS3 you got? but none of them are particularly noisy

What tyres have you on, and you checked all the windows were shut
Was it the engine you think, or the noise on roadsurface, or other?

The Bridgestone tyres can be noisy, but check the wheel arch area that nothing is loose
Have a look at the tyre make and report back
See how much tread they have- all contributes to noise
            Could be tailgate seal too.

I always think road noise is very subjective, our ds3 1.6 e-hdi, is quieter than the other halfs old micra but more noisy than my Mazda. Tyre noise is comparable on the Michelin pilot exaltos (although my mazda is running factory toyos which have a bad name for nvh), the main things that seem to make the DS3 feel noisy is the wind noise round the mirrors/windows and the fact the engine noise never ever goes away.

You've had it a week my main question would be what did you have? As that's what will be informing your view. My OH loves her DS3 it's the quietest/fastest/best riding car she's ever had...I have a different opinion which I won't air on a pro DS3 site informed by driving different car a lot.

Have a look and see if the seal/rubber is loose, coming away, deteriorating, preventing a good close of the tailgate (All the way round, not just the bottom part)

Also- look at the wheel well, see if it has any holes in it (Thats happened once before on here)

Ed- and if you wanna go that extra mile after doing all that, stick a large quilt in the boot and see if that helps the noise
                  Insure parcelshelf is in place

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks it's reallyyyyy loud!!

Mine went back as I thought there must be a seal or something but they said it's because the wing mirrors are so big! Although when I drive with them in, the noise is still there so must just be how they sound!! Never noticed when I test drove it though haha, I actually thought it was quieter than my Peugeot 206 but now I don't think it is.. I might check what's suggested above

Coming from an Astra 1.9 CDTi SRi I though the DS3 was v quiet, even my diesel !!

That said mine has always had the Michelin tyres on it which are supposed to be quieter than the Bridgestones....

No worries- assume all the tyres are same size. Had Nankangs myself- theyre not too noisy. but Bridgestones arent quiet thats for sure
Try the quilt in the boot thing if you still dont like the noise, blanket on the parcel shelf
(No- I'm not nuts- its what you do for a noisy rear lol)
