Im getting a towbar for my DS3 next payday.

I do loads of cycling, mountain biking, road biking etc, having a towbar is essential to owning a car. I had one on my c3 and I felt like it added character a mini tail. Anyway a towbar for cycle racks is better than roof bars. On my C2 VTS had roof bars, couldn't believe the damage to the roof from stone chips etc with the towbar my c3 stayed in the same condition I got it in.

One of the reasons I got the DS3 over a fiesta was engine size and BHP so it was always going to have a towbar fitted, will post a pic when i get it done.

At least I will not be the only one with a DS3 with a towbar fitted :-)

That doesn't look like the Citroen tow bar.

Mine's not a Citroen one either. Its says Witter on the plastic cover (but maybe that's just the cover!). Fitted to the new car at the dealer's before I picked it up (I think they called in a local mobile tow bar fitter) so as far as I'm concerned, its part of the original spec (as detailed on the order).

Yep mines a witter as well, authorised by citroen, had same kit on my c3, it does hang a little low and my reverse sensors are pretty much useless, but no one uses those??

The reason I asked is that the official Citroen tow bar offered on DS3 is made by SIARR and is a swan neck. When fitted by the dealer the warranty runs for three years on this, plus I believe the wiring kit automatically cuts the parking sensors when in use.

I was offered the swan neck but as its only for my bike racks, so not over fussed about style, plus the money saved can go on getting the car polished.

The official waiting kit known as dedicated electrics does indeed cut out the parking sensors. Whatsmore it senses as well that there is a trailer attached to the car and compensates the ABS, ESP as well
