  • I'm in love...

    Hey guys,

So i'm officially in love with my DS3. I've had him for over a week and I can't stop driving around. Infact I keep looking for excuses to drive around. Does that make me sad?!

Having him has, unfortunately, created a major problem. I spend a good ten odd mins trying to find somewhere 'safe' to park if I take him out. Plus I can't stop checking him out. My girlfriend thinks I'm having an affair. Bah!!

I do have a few questions to the vets of the DS3:

Do any of you encounter a squeeky clutch at times? As in the pedal. I mentioned it to my dealer when having a spare key coded and he lubed it up for me and said that it occasionally happens when the wire rubs against something (I may have forgotten part of what he said, ahem).

I'm not used to having a car thats more sporty, and therefor lowered with low profile wheels. Sometimes when driving and hitting a bump, the car creeks. Like the suspension is having to finally kick in. Is this normal?

Finally - my drivers side door rattles slightly at times. I don't know if it's the door 100%, but if it's something some of you experienced then please let me know!

Now, after re-reading it sounds like I'm picking little problems for the sake of it. I wouldn't call these problems, I just want to make sure my lil DS3 isn't in tip top shape. I wouldn't change him for the world!

    Cheers for the listen guys!

      It was going to happen!

The parking is normal, I've moved my car if anyone has parked near me and even gone to a different shop if there wasn't a suitable place.

      This is suitable btw:

Not had the clutch issue, only if its been raining and my trainers squeak in the carpet when changing gear - totally not the same, but the only footwell noise I've found.

Something on my passenger side rattles, it's driving me mad, combined with the rattle from the back and the seatbelt one, its a cacophony of noises -_-

Doesn't sound you are picking up little problems We're here to help re queries!

Can I suggest giving the trim that covers the mirror housing at the window a wee push, the "door" rattle is normally actually coming from there.

Rattle at back - check the parcel shelf, if not pushed down can move about making noises, or check the rear seats are fully locked in place.

Seatbelts - newer cars seem to be coming with a loop, would suggest popping into your dealer and for a couple of quid get seat clips which allow you to move the rest position of the buckle.

Cheers for the advice guys. I'll check out my mirror and see if that's the problem.

In regards to my clutch, I'll see how it goes. It doesn't effect the drive or anything. Just I can hear the squeak at times and when stationary with the door open it sounds rather loud from the outside. It only seems to play up when it's wet though!

WTF - Noice parking. Although that rubbish on the ground infront of the car is rather close. I'd suggest parking further away in future :P

Bigfeet - I think I may have to send loving words out to my car via your thread!
