  • Oil consumption

Ive had my 120 Vti for 6 weeks now from a non Citroen dealer in Wigan, now they assured me it was serviced and Levels checked before it was sold and put a Service Stamp in my book, and i can see an oil change was done around 4k miles ago

This morning my car decided to tell me she needed oil, im a little worried about it tbh because if it WAS topped up it shouldn't have run out by now surely?

i can see no leaks from underneath the car either?

what is 'normal' for oil usage for the DS3? my old megane went through 12k miles and the level hardly dropped a millimetre....

    Yep, this is normal.

    Mine 120 loved oil!

She did have an oil leak though, and would go through a bottle a month, this is from my old WTF thread:
Spotted oil on my right drivers side wheel hinted something was up.
Took her in today, and the Timing chain bolt was loose, causing the oil to leak from the engine - when looking under my bonnet last week, there was loads sitting on the plate under the engine.
Service said Citroen don't dead lock them on, so after time with movement and changes in heat it has a tendency to wiggle loose.
Tightened back up, engine bay cleaned, brake disk, wheel and hub cleaned up.

Initially mine was using the equivalent of a litre every 4,000 miles. Now, at 33,000 miles, it's down to a litre every 10,000 miles; after three Alfa Twin-Sparks even 4,000 miles/litre was impressive!

It will take a day or so for the oil level light to go off. as long as dipstick level is ok give it some time.

Mine said it for a few days after a top up. Never the same day.

If your dip stick is right, then I'd wait for it to all catch up with itself.
