    I'm after a bit of advice really here's the story;

I had my DS3 1.6THP Remapped by a well respected mobile tuner in hull.
He said my new BHP would be around 195-200BHP, when he was doing it the ECU was protected so had to manually open it and managed to do it that way albeit it nearly blowing the ECU due to putting his prong on the wrong bit on the board.

Car started and not a problem. A few days later I decided to take it to a different tuner to have it on a rolling road to test BHP and Torque.

The guy tested it and BHP was at 178 and Torque a lot less then quoted.

My problem is who's lying? Is it the tuner who mapped it? Or the guy on therolling road due to him wanting to re map it 'properly'.

The original guy who mapped it has said the people who made the map are willing for me to take it to a completely independent company with a rolling road to test all paid for.

Ideally I would want to bring it to you but iv already paid 180£ for map and £50 for rolling road.

Any help is greatly appreciated Jamie.

Just sent this to Jamie was hoping other members might have an idea

    Thanks

Did you get a printout of the rolling road results? If so, I'd say the original remapper was lying. £180 sounds quite cheap too.

That's the graph he gave me.

Really unsure on what to do or where to go from here.

The guy who mapped it said that the mappers he uses are going to pay for it to be rolling roaded somewhere because they basically think the place where I had it done are after mapping it

But what Hp was it standard, I see so many THP now already down on power, one as little as 122hp...

          Nearly 30 lost, that's crazy.

Yeah, would be good to know what yours was a standard and where you started from.

156 standard, that's what the tech specs were on it anyway!

I am sure jamie can comment on this but i was under the impression that there are factors that can effect a rolling road run eg ambient temp so that the same car may give different readings on a rolling road let alone two different machines

You're better off taking it to somewhere that has a hub dyno, then calculate the transmission losses etc.

What have you git to lose by taking to the place they're saying will do it for free?

Also why did the place who mapped it not run it before and after?

I am guessing because hes a mobile mapper.. take a lesson from it.. always go to some where with a rolling road to get a map for proof.. and i might be wrong but that graph is up and down a lot and i dont think that is a good sign.. mine is steady climb up with no dips

I managed to get my money back off the mobile remapper and he set it back to how it was before I took it to him, standard.

Lesson learnt will always take it to a mapper with a rolling road!

Hopefully going to be Jamie at SP Tuning, just a 2 hour drive

You need a stock / baseline to measure this against. Rolling roads can vary hugely. I've currently got a modded BMW and you can see variations of upto 100bhp.

Best to get a before and after (if possible) or at least use a rolling road used by others so you can compare.
