  • Please help!

I had a call from my local Citreon garage yesterday to say there was some good and bad news about my car...the good news was that it had arrived and was at my local dealership...the bad news was that they forgot to order the sat nav!! I have waited so long for the car. What do you think I should do?? They are going to phone me tomorrow when the sales man has spoke to his manager and Citroen to see what deal they can do for me if I decide to keep the one without the sat nav. Otherwise it's order a new car and wait until June??!!!

    What do you think??

Personally I'll hold out for what you ordered originally and see what the compensation is.

Yep get what you ordered and in the mean time as the fault is there's ask for a courtesy car until your new one turns up if you don't already have a car

Doesn't it now double up as a reversing camera?

If it does this then I might hold on, if it doesn't I think I'd ensure the compensation offered covers you to buy a top of the range TomTom or Garmin etc.... IMHO these offer more flexibility (including the ability to update maps etc yourself rather than at a dealers) and are normally half the price.

I'm assuming the dealer discount would need to be the cost of the in car Satnav you've already paid for and then some for the inconvenience ?

Are the new in car sat nav / music info etc screens updateable by just downloading a file to a memory stick and plugging it in to the usb port like other (home) electronic devices?

No idea, when I looked at the origianl MyWay it was v expensive and couldn't even manage full UK Postcodes, hence why I used the cash to get a TomTom

You can download updates and maps for my way and e-my way and install them yourself. Look at GPS underground for the files.
