  • Front Parking Sensors !!!

    Hi All ...

In case anyone's interested ... here's a pic of how the front parking sensors look ... 4 small black circles, 2 on the white bumper, and 2 that can't be seen on the black part next to the number plate ... Don't look too bad !!! You have to switch them on via a button which was dealer-fitted ... it's just in front of the gear stick, and is the 'beeping' noise thing ... no display (like the rear sensors) !!!

Front sensors ordered with other extras, but only cost £165, and were fitted at the PDI (for nothing, I think ... well, I didn't pay anything !!!) ... Stevo

I was gonna get them, but though no point. I can judge the front of the car perfectly

Did they not give the option to have them the same colour as the bumper?

Those are dealer fitted sensors so the units will only come in black.

The front sensors on my car are white on the bumper and black on the black part, these are the colour of the plastic and not painted.

I have two front sensors - one either side of my nose and slightly higher.

Wouldn't say sensors, more like Area Scanning devices

Best tip I ever got about front obstacles was to hold the front beam light on, the reflection of light helps you judge how close your getting, granted it's no substitute for park sensors but makes a close second.

Area scanning devices is a good description as they do cover an area wider than the car, as do the rear sensors.

My DS3 rear sensors arent as good as my previous FORD FOCUS
The Focus sensors seemed to go round the bumper, where the DS3 sensors are just straight across the back bumper bit
Therefore the FOCUS sensors gave a clear reading if you were close to a wall, or something, from the side
