  • Diesel 110 custom exhaust system

Hello I'm new to the group, has anyone with a 110 diesel upgraded their exhaust system, if so is there a noticeable difference in noise without removing the CAT and DPF?

    Many thanks,

    Tom

Removing the DPF will result in a MOT failure now.

I know that's why I asked if anyone had an upgraded exhaust without removing the dpf?
Just wondered whether the sound was any good lol!

Had mine MOT'd a few weeks ago and decided to hang around so I could get to see underneath the car and got chatting the to the guy who was doing the MOT. We were talking about remaps etc. and came on to talking about removal of DPFs and he insisted that all they check is that there appears to be a DPF present. Also, when running the emissions test using a probe in the exhaust, the car didn't register enough emissions for the test to even produce any figures...aka a pass. He noted that this tended to occur with some of the more modern cars. He recommended that if I were to remove my DPF, then replace it with an 'empty' one, and the MOT centres would never tell the difference. Not sure if anybody else has any experience of something similar?
