  • Service Prices

I have just booked my DS3 in for its 2yr service at 21000 miles. I've only had the car 9 months, so its its first service i've had to put it in for.
I've been quoted £315 from Citroen Wigan and i'm thinking thats alot?
It covers all the basics plus Break Fluid and an Air Con service.
What are your thoughts on this? Is it too much to pay?
    Any advise would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the club

Sounds like a lot to me but Bigfeet will be able to advise.

This page lists £195 for a full service but it also says it's for vehicles older than 36 months so I'm not sure how relevant it is to you.

Thank you! My husband made me join as he said "the guys on the forum are always the best to ask"

My DS3 is a 13 plate, so i guess that wouldn't be too relevant.

If anyone can recommend a good Citroen garage or name in the service department that they could recommend that would be wicked!

BCC in Bolton are a good shout, always been relatively cheap whenever I've gone in and nice friendly staff.

Could you not try finding a local specialist or a friend in the business at a garage? Be able to do the same stuff. Just won't have the official stamp but a normal one

Thanks Dangerousfish, I will give them a call and get some prices from them.

gatesy0093 I did wonder about using a relative - who owns a garage... but then thought with it being a new car, and under warranty i should stick with Citroen for now. But i think the costs would be much less, but wondered how that impacted in later life when i may want to sell the car on..... Do people prefer a dealer stamp? Or is the fact its just had regular servicing enough?

As I understand it as long as it's been serviced with OEM parts then the warranty is still valid.

You don't really need a air con service at 2 years no matter what the dealer says .
Air con should be good for 3 to 4 years .my dealer wanted to charge me 75 quid for that.
Would be worth checking with the service department weather your car has free servicing on it as citroen were giving 3 years servicing with new cars around that year which I found out with my 13 plate. The servicing stays with the vehicle not the owner so worth a look.

For me I would do what mikeandsazzle has said and definitely check if it still has free services left. If not I would get it serviced somewhere else, for me a stamp is just a bit of ink. A garage is a garage, as long as you know them or at least know a garage you can trust then all should be fine. As long as you keep all the receipts and stuff to prove that work has been done I think that's what people are more bothered about...

for my previous cars they were 15 year old with no service history at all so I just done them myself and kept receipts, wrote in the service book what i had done myself. For my new DS3 I'm gonna get it done at my local garage as I know them

Guys thanks so much for your responses. I will check out the free servicing for sure and also maybe opt for my husbands uncles garage to do the work instead. Thanks a mill!

Not only did I still have free servicing but also breakdown cover.just ask the service department to check your vin number on their computer and it will bring up any details.
The worst thing was when I bought the car they sold me a 3 year service plan and didn't mention anything about it . When I found out I still had free servicing I got a full refund 😊

Now I'm really intrigued as to if I have free servicing or not!
I will call the garage tomorrow to find out and let you know!

You would be looking at around £200-250 for that kind of service, a lot of it is to do with the dealer's labour rate which can vary quite a bit across the country.

The Air Con shouldn't be needed checked yet as the gas levels should be still good, I tend to wait until the Air Con doesn't blow cold any more!
