  • questions about MPG

Ayup guys not been on here for a while been ill health wise I'm wanting to know what people are getting in fuel economy from their 1.6 hdi's the 120bhp variety as my THP keeps running off with my arms and legs and wallet after wallet lol its unreal so I'm thinking of unfortunately downgrading to a dirty diesel

not sure about the 120 but my 90 easily gets lows 50's with mostly motorway driving. Drops to about low to mid 40's with excited city driving.

and I like dirty diesels lol although next cars going to be a petrol (dont do a diesel)

On the computer my 110 averages at 53.5mpg. Motorway I can get 56 going 80mph.

On my trip to work a full tank will get at least 450 before the light comes on but that's with sensible driving :P

My 115 gets 54MPG, I thrash it from time to time as well. It's quite nippy when you need it to be.

A granny with a heavy foot! (or something up with the engine). I can get 55mpg from my THP if I drive like a granny.

Our 90 hdi struggles to break more than 50mpg on the trip computer, so I'm guessing the real figure is probably lower than that.

My 90 hdi gets about 43 around town with a fairly heavy foot mid to high 50s on the motorway.
Changed from a petrol Nissan juke which I was filling up a lot.
Best change I ever did .

I agree I get anything from 35 to 48 from my thp depending on the driving I do but average about 38mpg with mixed driving that's town A roads bit of motorway & the odd blast on the open road never less that 400miles per tankful nearer 460

The new GDI (petrol) engines aren't much cleaner than a diesel.
Diesel is the most efficient for a reason, mine (110) averages 56 mpg with highs of 81 mpg if I properly milk it.
