  • Which DS3? DStyle? DStyle+ or DSport

    Hi Guys

Im currently selling my Polo (yeah 65bhp ) and have been looking through cars recently and either can't find good car for a good price or insurance is simply too high! I have decided I wanna go for beautiful DS3 in which I have passed my driving license (2 years ago) anyway... I have been looking and there are Dstyle, Dstyle plus and DSport I have to say DSport has the best looking interior carbon like finish - love it! So Im soon to buy DS3 not older than 3 years maybe 4 and not higher milage than 30-40k? Is 40k a good milage for DS3? It would be 1.6 Petrol engine 120bhp or 150bhp. Any advice? What to look out for? What to expect? Thanks in advance guys!

Hey! The 120bhp is only the DStyle. 150bhp is the dsport, but if you can find one, try and get a 155bhp if you go for the dsport. The 150 has had a..... Few issues and has a bit of a rep

Dsports in petrol have been. 150, 155 and now a 165.

Look out for dsport plus if you can.

Awesome I'm just looking and I think I'll pass on DSport as it is bit too expenive, I'll stick to DStyle Plus which is within my budget 8k and milage on the cars is about 20-30k which is awesome anything to look for in Dstyle Plus? Or nothing to be scared of

Depends what you want to do with the car and of course as you have had a licence for two years the insurance costs. £8000 is a good budget and all DS3's are miles better value than a Polo. The nice thing with a D Style plus is that it still a very nice spec and looks great. If you don't do lots of miles then a petrol version is the better buy and you will get a later car than the equivalent diesel. D Syle is still a good little car though and great value in comparison with other makes, and it's nowhere near as basic as many other "entry level" offerings. Buy what you feel comfortable with, good history, low ownership and good condition.

DSport 110 road tax free too, the 90hdi is probably too. Check the exhaust rear bracket for corrosion. Check what you are getting in terms of HiFi, ie. Does it have Bluetooth for hands free and streaming music. The seats in the DSport are a lot better but you can retro fit DSport seats to a Dstyle.

When I got mine I chose DStyle+ Petrol as it was the best specced car for the money in the range with the folding mirrors, auto lights and wipers, tinted windows etc and I couldn't afford the DSport despite it's greater power being a draw.
Nearly three years on and I still love it but I never keep cars for long as there is always something new to try.

Only thing I would say is that at around 13/63 plate cars some with come with Bluetooth and USB and some won't. Not a bad idea to double check first.

Another other thing I can think of is service history, service history, service history!

Oh yeah make sure you do an HPI if private or ask to see the paperwork if through a dealer, and talking of dealers I would strongly suggest that you go for a car with a Citroen approved warranty.

If I think of anything else I'll post it up.

Yip, free road tax here ;-)

The DStyle Plus is a great car.
There is no bluetooth standard with the car - so you'd need to sort something there. (Mines an '11 Model)

Make sure you get floor mats with the car as mine didn't and should've I believe.

Other than that, no issues with the car and it's been great.

1 full tank of diesel and managed to get this out of it (even with traffic cues totaling nearly 2 hours)
