  • Bluetooth Phonebook Problem

Anyone having problems loading their phonebook to the car?

Both myself and partner have Blackberry Curve 9320 phones for work and are really struggling - car connects without a problem but does not ask for phonebook access, although in the device properties on the phone it does confirm the car has 'Phonebook Access Profile'. Everything's set up to allow phonebook access but for some reason they just don't want to communicate. This means that when receiving calls I have just an unknown number rather than a name. I've tried it on our DS3, which doesn't have eMyWay and on a DS3 with eMyWay and it doesn;t work on either.

    My tests so far are:-

Blackberry Curve 9320 on DS3 without eMyWay: No Phonebook
Blackberry Curve 9320 on DS3 with eMyWay: No Phonebook
Blackberry Curve 9320 on Renault Clio with MediaNav: No Phonebook
Blackberry Curve 9320 on Renault Megane with TomTom system - Works OK
Blackberry Curve 9320 on BMW 135iM with Pro Navigation System - Works OK
Old Orange San Francisco Android Phone - Works OK on all
Old Orange San Francisco II Android Phone - Works OK on BMW, Megane and Clio but no Phonebook on DS3

I'm not too bothered about the Android Phones but really need to get the Blackberry Curve 9320 working. Anyone got any ideas?

Blackberry does not allow download from SIM, make sure that all your contacts are copied over from the SIM to the phone memory. Remove the pairing, deleting the profile from the car and try again. This time it should work no problem.

Thanks for the reply, but already tried this and it didn't make any difference on the DS3 or Clio. I'm wondering if it's a compatiblity issue with this particular Blackberry model?

Another thing possibly worth mentioning is that the Blackberry is set up for work using an 'Enterprise Account' although I'm not sure whether this would have any impact?

I've also managed to source a list of phones for the Clio which will download a phonebook and the 9320 isn't listed?

Not sure what the 'Enterprise account' would be but it might be causing a problem, the Blackberry 9320 is compatible with the DS3 as I have paired one before myself without any problems.

'Enterprise Account' basically means it's pre configured by work and has some functions locked.

Any how, really appreciate the help, especially as it's now sorted. Am sooooooooo happy

The problem appeared to have beeen encryption of the contacts. In contacts setting the phone had this option ticked. Thankfully the function to un-encrypt wasn't locked so once the box was un-ticked, the phone un-paired and then re-paired the phonebook transferred.
