  • How is it that the DS3 has become so popular in Great Britain?

Is it the look, styling, build quality or just because it is a really fun car to drive?
Here in Stockolm Sweden you rarely see a DS3 and both new and used cars remain unsold at dealers.
When I, for once, meets another DS3 flashes I always with the main beam but I do not think I've met anyone who responded to it
    Tell me please

They have become very popular recently in London. I assume it's just that the car was always good, but it only became available in 2010, so it takes a few years for them to become affordable and for the used market to become populated. Small hatch backs are great here because there are lots of narrow roads and narrow parking spaces, and the DS3 is an excellent example of a small hatchback that still has a lot of performance.

I don't know why it's less popular in Sweden though. :o

I am guessing that being from Sweden most people buy Volvo's
DS3 1.6THP DSport with a few bits added.....nickname BB

As Human after all says ,it takes a while for things to become popular .When I first saw the DS3 I wasn't that impressed with the styling, but the more of them you see and see what other manufacturers are doing following the same trend ,the DS3 stood out for me and Im not disappointed .

I think it's became popular because it came to the market as a brand new car in 2009 to take on the likes of Mini (which is a retro car revived) whereas the DS3 is not which gave a refreshing alternative to the Mini

Because some of us were loved enough as children that we don't need to own a Mini.

I fell in love with them the first time I saw one, it was yellow and I remember thinking "What is that car" I soon found out and wanted one, I looked at a few to buy but found the seats were a bit floppy in most except for the full leather options and the special editions so I went for a black & white special edition with the sport seats, the drivers seat broke and I was gutted
But since then I have replaced both front seats for the cost of £275.00, they seem brand new and exactly the same as the old ones apart from they have white markings on the levers, now she's back to A1. Who wants a Mini ? Not me!

The DSport is now about £3000 more new than I paid for mine in 2011

I loved having a car back then that you hardly ever saw but they're all over the place now.

I noticed the other day the increase in RRP from 2012 when I bought my first one.... Not sure what I'll get in two years time, it will depend a lot on the look of the remodelled DS3 and whether I have enough saved for a sporty Scirocco (assumes I haven't bought a GT-R already)

Yip, in 2010 mine came with every possible extra including the proper spoiler and came in (I think) at well under £20k.
For the money they are now asking for the same spec I would go elsewhere.

These are my thoughts too, I bought my first eHDi DSport+ brand new for just under £18k, I can't really think I'll spend a lot more than that for a lesser specced DS3
