  • Corroded alloys

So I noticed all 4 of my alloys on my ds3 have corroded really bad around the logo. I got the car in November from Citroen and at the time the swapped the alloys to black ones to suit the car better.

So 7months on the have corroded and I have spoke to the dealers and they said t doesn't come under my warranty as the car is older then 3years. My car is 60reg. But my argument is that they have put defected alloys on my car when they swapped it and are expecting me to pay out for new ones ! I'm so frustrated as the ones they have put on are faulty. Am I correct in thinking they should change them?Click image for larger version

    Welcome

This reminds me of when I got a tumble dryer replaced under warranty when it only had one month to go on the warranty. The new one went 3 months later and they refused to do anything as I was outside the original warranty period. Not a good feeling
Someone with more experience of car warranty will be along soon to give you a more professional answer no doubt.

I would contact Citroen UK and see if they will change them under warranty as a good will gesture.

I had this on one of my alloys. I went to B&iq and bought a sanding disc for my drill (it looks like a red fibrous circle with a peice on it to fit in the jaws of a drill) I then sanded it back till the corrosion was gone and then re-lacquered it with a touch up,( the kind you get in some touch up kits. All in all I think thi cost me under a tenner and it looks fine, I'lol post some pics of it if you want, let me know.

sorry for the delay, I use this as a spare (having no spare, boo) just be careful on the sanding part, not to touch anything but the corroded part, the disc I used was a bit bigger than the wheel centre so I applied a little force to get it into the angled part if that makes sense and obviously remove the centre cap (Doh !)go steady until your happy with the result then clean the dust off with a damp cloth then dry it totally before laquering. Hope this helps, it is easy.
