  • Engine Oil..

    Hi all,

Had my car remapped a few months ago by Jamie at SP.

Cars just asked me to top up engine oil, what would you recommend?

    Cheers!

Standard is Moble 5W30 oil I do believe.
Alternative is Castrol 5W30 C3 oil?

Do not know what engine you have. Citroen uses Total oil. You do not have to use that though just oil that meets the Citroen norm specifications for your engine. This will be in your service booklet, it is the thin booklet that has the pages for the inspection stamps.

It is the 1.6THP, obviously because of the remap I wasn't sure if there was a more suitable oil to use

Jamie does tons of oil burners. Stick with the 5w30 Mad Man and Citroen recommend. These THP's are picky about there oil. Spec should be Citroen B71 2290 5w30 or B71 2296 0W30 But check your book to make sure it has not changed.

And that is also fine as long as the particular mobile 1 meets the citroen spec. Not all of them do.
