Sat nav system info request

Hey folks! I was hoping someone could help shed some light on the differences between the upgraded stereo in the DS3 DSport plus and the sat nav stereo option?

I've got a DS3 Dsport plus and my mum and dad are so impressed with it my mum is now possibly getting one. We've seen a potential one but it's got the sat nav system and I was wondering what the main differences are and is it better than the regular system? Also can music still be streamed over Bluetooth & controlled via the stalks? Is the screen touchscreen?

I take it the car is not a new one?

If that is the case the touchscreen is only in the very latest model 30 spec, otherwise the system is controlled via buttons.

You will be able to stream music to the system via bluetooth but the controls are dependant on the phone you are using.

Yeah it's not a new car it's a 14 plate. I just wondered if the system is decent as I know my normal stereo is good

As far as I can tell the audio quality is on par with the standard set-up so there is no loss in fidelity.

Am I right in thinking that on a 14 plate DSport Plus some sat nav / camera variants can't have the Hi Fi System upgrade? I'm guessing your DSport Plus will have the Hi Fi upgrade so, if you want 'like for like' audio quality I'd check the new one has this too.

Oh I see, I'll need to look into that! Does the sat nav screen also a reversing camera? It doesn't mention that on the website but I'm aware that these car sites don't always list the various things cars come with these days.

Have a look on the pictures, if it has the camera, it should be visible just above the rear number plate recess.

I've had a look but the pictures aren't very clear to be honest. From what I can see I don't think there is anything there. I'm assuming some just have sat nav but some have sat nav & a reversing camera? I'm just curious if it's going to be better for my mum going for one that has the sat nav built in .

If you're not sure ask them to put it in reverse - what do they see on the screen? I'm sure the camera is quite rare on 14 plates so if I had to guess I would say it won't have one however, if it has, I'm fairly sure it won't have the Hi Fi upgrade. Hopefully someone like Bigfeet can confirm option availability and impact.

Depends if the sat nav system is MyWay (no USB) or eMyWay (has USB). My DSport Plus is from June 2014 so if it was built after that it should have eMyWay. I'm not sure when the changeover was.

Ah I didn't know there were two kinds. Do you have any idea what one of those tends to be more common in the 14 plates? From the pictures of the car it has the wee HiFi thing on the top of the dash if that helps indicate what one it is. I'm reluctant to phone the dealer as the car is getting sent up and I doubt they'll even go check if I ask. Thanks
