  • Fog and DRLs

Newbie here so firstly Hi to you all, I brought my wife her 2011 DS3 hdi about 6 weeks ago, and have to say since moving over from a long line of vw golfs we are more than happy with our swap and wish we had made it sooner,
anyway, I was driving the car last night when a young lad ran out in front of the car causing an accident, before you ask, he is ok, nothing broken and will make a full recovery, the car on the other hand does have some breaks,
the bumper its self is fine, no damage at all, but the clips that hold the fog & drls in place have snapped, not on the lights them selfs but the catches that they go into on the bumper, I was just wondering if im going to need to replace the whole bumper, or can these clips be replaced separately, hope that makes sense.
    cheers

    Welcome to the club

Not sure about the clips but I'm sure someone will be along shortly.

Eeeesh! Glad nobody was hurt other than the car.

Is there any way you can get a picture of the clips that are broken so we can see exactly what you mean?

More often than not, you can grab replacement ones off Ebay/Amazon for a couple of quid so you might be in luck.

Edit: Here's the most common ones:

I think I know the ones you mean, sort of a rectangular shape?

If so, you may be able to find somebody who can weld the plastic back together but it may result in it not being a straight fit.

Keep your eye on ebay if that's the case for anybody breaking a DS3 as you can sometimes find a bargain.

A while back my front bumper was reversed into whilst parked and despite no damage to the paintwork, the plastic clips round the side of the bumper where it attaches to the wing broke. The dealer told me that this is not repairable and will require a new bumper at some £800 IIRC.

Luckily I have managed to use some stong Araldyte from Halfords and attached the side bit (that tended to poke out a little without the clips) back to the wing behind the bumper.

You might be able to do some home diy to achieve similar ?

              Good luck

Ok so thanks forthe input, I had the body shop take a look and it's going to be a new bumper, so with that and the new windscreen I'm putting it through the insurance. Fingers crossed they get it turned round asap, don't want to be driving a micra for to long.
