  • Disgusting customer service from CUK

Got to say just how p..d off i am with CUK.

I have got rust spots and bubbles coming through on both wings ( see pics ) ( 2010 car ) in the corner where the bumper joins the wing.
So being the car has corrosion warrantee I have been in touch with CUK who wanted pics of the problem, this i did, then they wanted copies of the service and anti corrosion service stamps in the book, this i did, then nothing for two weeks, just called them again today to be told can i send pics and service details, YOU ALREADY HAVE THEM ! no we dont, yes you do, no we dont, so send them all off again, then get a call back, you need to take the car to a Citroen dealer for a inspection and report, however this will cost you £110 + vat ! WTF there not doing the repair, ah well you have to pay for the labour, what £110 ?? yes 1 hour, but it takes 5 mins to see the problem ! sorry its still an hour labour, what a rip off !!.
To make it even worst they tell me at the dealers that i would also have to pay the first £99 of the repair, so its going to cost me £210 for what i have been quoted by a local bodyshop to do for just £120 inc vat !

I thought warrantee meant warrantee meaning you don't have to pay, how wrong i am, really don't know what to do now, i don't have £210 let along £120 and if i leave it it will only get worst.

CUK just take the biscuit, i asked if the repair was done under warentee would i get my money back that i have had to pay to get it inspected and £99, just told NO end of story.

This is such bad customer service, i will never buy another Citroen again.

That sounds like a horrible experience so far.

Have you considered just taking the car to the dealership and asking them to liase with CUK on your behalf?

If you explain your situation to the dealer directly I'm sure they'd be more than happy to step away from their desk to take a look at what you're referring to and call CUK on your behalf to arrange the warranty work.

Not sure why you didn't just go to your dealer to start with.

Anyway I would be surprised at a dealer that would charge you for looking at the paintwork but the repair would need to be submitted by the dealer for Citroen to administer, also the repair would have to be carried out by a Citroen Authorised Repairer.

Best bet would be to go and have a chat about getting the work sorted out.

Sounds easy but i have already been to my main dealer in Harlow, i got the impression there not prepared to help me really as the car was not bought from them and they have had no connection with it service wise, a guy did come out, look at it and confirm there is a corrosion issue, however i would still have to pay for an hours labour for a engineer to look at it and write a report, this i am told is where the hour comes in, to say i am disappointed with CUK and my local dealer is a under statement to be honest.

I have owned BMW’s Mazda’s, Ford’s Toyota’s and never had anything like this from a dealer of manufacture when it came to warrantee issues, they have all done the work without payment of any sort, the Citroen dealer told me they charge the hours labour because CUK wont pay the charge for labour for the report and they would end up out of pocket, don't matter about my pocket though. Disgusting service from CUK, i will never buy again, in fact as soon as the work is done the cars going, not going through all this again for any reason.

Try a different dealer. But poor service isn't a reason to never buy again. I've had poor service from Asda, I still go there.

Sounds as though you've exhausted your options other than trying another dealer.

If I was you, my next route would be to get the repair work carried out and then make CUK/Dealer aware you intend on raising a claim in small claims court for a refund on any money you've had to pay for warranty work (once CUK have confirmed it is warranty work).

If that is Harlow in Essex then try Toomeys in Basildon, I have nothing but great service from them.

                Yes Harlow

Must admit first impression count, bad service always stay in mind and never go’s, this is not the first time i have got bad service from my local Citroen dealer and CUK, my side skirt came loose because of broken clips, i went to the dealers for some new clips to be told you have to buy the whole skirt, £185 + vat, i called CUK and got told the same, i then had a search on this forum to find other people were told the same, however searching on Ebay i found them for £2.50 for 10 inc post and only this weekend while washing the car did i notice that the clear cover lens on the number plate light was missing, walk over to my dealer only to be told you have to buy the whole light, £18 ! not happy but need it so had to pay, even the air fresheners at £13 a pop is a rip off, again i dont buy them, just use cheep Tesco one’s !
Other problem i found is my twin exhaust tips are starting to rust, thought might as well swap them for new, cant, there all part of the back box, £489 + vat, tell me that's not a rip off !

I have a 2010 DSport and I'm amazed you have any form of corrosion, get hold of Jamie at Sp Tuning, he had a complete backbox on his workshop floor last week.

It looks like the gap between the bumper and the rear quarter has in uneven gap going by the photo???

Has it had some sort of rear impact? Causing them to rub together and cause this bubbling, and maybe why your paint warranty may not be valid perhaps?

How long is the corrosion guarantee? Can't think if it's 3 or 5 years but there is a time limit.

I had my corroded wheels replaced under warranty after a 5 minute inspection at my dealer. They were only about 2 years old though.

I think they might want to charge for the inspection because the car's out of mechanical warranty at 5 years old. Then if the rust is as a result of damage, it wouldn't be covered.

Still, it's not a good story. I hope they sort something out.

Yeah my dealer exchanged one of my alloys a few months back due to corrosion (no charge) I'm shortly going to be sending them pics of two more that have the same issue so they can start the claim with CUK for me

The paint on DS3 is guaranteed for 3 years while the anti-corrosion is for 12 years but that is subject to the car having the correct inspections stamped in the service book.

The corrosion is on the front wings, both sides, same place, not been in any accident, the service book corrosion check was done and been stamped.
There really is no excuse for them not covering it on warrentee but they still wont move.
I took the car a a bodyshop oppersit the dealer in Harlow who told me he has done 4 cars the same as mine with the same problem, i presented this information to CUK and still they dont want to know, i am left to deal with it myself, cost £250 for both sides, car goes in first week next month, in the meantime i am not giving up on this.
