That never happens

I was out shopping today, parked my car and got out.

A lady in a 'fancy' Lexus pulls up to me and asks, "What is that car? What make?"

"It's a Citroen," I said. "A DS3."

"It's lovely, isn't it? I really like it."

"Thank you very much," I said, somewhat stunned, and had a smile on my face all the way home. :cool:

I had that happen to me last year at my old work as I was leaving, a family were around mine and one of my colleagues DS3s and commented how nice they were and that they wanted one.

Happened to me the night before french car show. I was stopped at traffic lights and this guy came up saying it looked good lol. I had the exact same feeling you had too.

Still makes me smile when I hear people say nice things!

I often park up and catch up with the DS3Club instagram before heading into the shops, so often hear passing comments

I was in a garage having my exhaust fitted, admiring the Lamborghini Diablo parked outside, when a guy stood and spoke to me for a good half an hour about my car and how nice it was......

Only then to say goodbye, walk over, get in the Lambo, and drive off

As the DS3 isn't exactly a common sight here (most people don't know what it is), I was somewhat stunned the other day when the bloke at the petrol station knew what it was!

Never happened with my DS3 but did once in my C2. I'd parked up at Goodwood FoS, gone to find something and when I came back there was an old couple peering through the windows. There were never many Code editions around and they said they liked the paint/leather more than their Mini Cooper. I was more than happy with that compliment

Last weekend I drove into the parking bays at the front of a Tile Shop. When I walked in the front door, the middle-aged lady from the shop said "Can I go for a drive in your car?" Before you ask - I declined!

Similar thing at Wings & Wheels last year. Got chatting to an older guy, he was looking at getting a DS3 for his son. Asked him what he drives, he had an F40.

I had a man stop me in Sainsburys carpark who proceeded to tell me his daughter had just bought one! No compliments though!

Came back to my car tonight after leaving it parked on a side street and there was a trio standing round it, looking in the windows, nodding and gesticulating. They cleared off before I reached them so I'm hoping they were admiring it, otherwise I turned up just as they were about to steal it! I've never owned a car that attracted attention before. It's weird. :confused:
