  • Brake pads from Citroen Dealers

Just had a full service on the DS3 at citroen, When finished the report showed that pads the front pads were very worn and rears are also getting abit low and required a change, they provided a quote:

Genuine Citroen parts both Front and Rear fully fitted = £350
Parts provided by Citroens "Essential range" a.k.a. lower quality parts = £225

Not sure if they were trying to pull a fast one price wise but that seems totally crazy when Kwik Fit will fit and also provide free pads for life = £189 all in,

In the end i got a mate who works at Mercedes to source the parts and fit, all in £36 and a pint for fitting

i know dealers are overpriced but still that's quite a save in my book, i haven't had much experience with dealers as this is my first new car that warrants a trip to the dealers are they all as expensive as this?

Price wise sounds like pads and disks.

Agree with Cyclone, what you need to bear in mind (and I've said this before) is the labour rate that the dealer charges for the job. This is where the price difference between the main dealer and a back street outfit differ.

My OEM pads and discs needed replacing at around 17k, I bought superior aftermarket components that have lasted as long with only minimal signs of wear.

Same here Superfly...my son had a similar quote from Citroen with his C1 at his MOT ! We managed to source a good set from Ebay and spent a morning fitting them
