  • Climate Control Button: paint vanishing?

Okay so this is my climate control 'lower the temperature' button... and it's obscure so couldn't find a topic to suit. It appears as though the paint is chipping away?

I'd initially thought it was something that had gotten on the button, but when I tried to get it off, it seemed to be more of a scratch. Any ideas? Am I right in thinking the paint looks like it's coming away?

I've got the exact problem, just wondering if it could be painted some how. Has someone else got this problem?

I have, on my fan speed button... though haven't bothered to question my dealer about it & the warranty.

I'm glad it's not just me. Either it's a quality issue, or it highlights the benefit of having a dial to twist rather than buttons to prod for temperature controls.

          New one to me!

Have you enquired about warranty since posting the fault?

Not yet... it's due for service soon so may mention it when I take it in. Driving through the tunnel the other day, the backlighting was showing through. So it appears to be a very thin coat of black paint on the button...

Ive got the same issue on my radio buttons, the Phone and Nav buttons are all being worn away, I hand my car back in 2 weeks time so will see what they say? I cant see Citroen entertaining a warranty claim as I bet interior is only covered for 12 Months.

You people need to read your warranties.

Haha... Although to be fair, 'look at warranty coverage' has been on my to-do list for the last week or so! [emoji14]

Not seen this before, my DS3 is almost 3 years old and no sign of this yet...

How often are you all adjusting your temperature using this button ?
