Thanks John - Enough with the spelling stuff. I apologize for my poor spelling.

I am going to contact the cheapest insurer on the DS and see if they will cover the Chrysler too. What's hard is they all want to know when the DS insurance will start as if it goes over to the next month it incurs another months charges.

It's a tough one. I did enquire with my dealer about the insurance and they gave me the details of the Citroen insurance. I've not checked the prices yet but cant see them being very competitive.

The Citroen insurance should be free; wether you stay with them after the good will gesture period is up to you.

Fish.................I would hate to open a thread with such a glaring cock-up.
Of course I've post with typos occasionally and if I looked I'm positive that I could find several, which is why I use a browser with a spell check.

And my original post was admittedly tongue in cheek, but it didn't need you to make an issue of it.
On the insurance issue yes some people can get Citroen to provide 7days free cover, but as Joe's insurance is due to run out in a few days I was trying to suggest a way around being charged a fee for swapping vehicles.

I do believe that Citroen give a 7 day free insurance with new cars, or at least I got that with mine. So you would have 7 days grace.

Thanks john for the help. You understand the problem. The problem is NOT the insurance on the DS really as much as the chrylser I have that is to be renewed and held only for a matter of weeks or even days and then having to pay a forfeit to cancel as they cannot match the DS price.

Perhaps something like this may be worth looking at?

I'd go along with John's suggestion - get the best quote for the DS, insure the Chrysler with them & change to the DS when you get it.

As several people have said, you should get seven days "drive away" insurance from your dealer. You will,in any case, have some idea of the timescale you're working to. Unless the system has changed you'll get a letter/email from Citroen telling you the date the car left the factory; you can expect to take delivery around 17 days after that (there's a thread about that somewhere!).

I know you got a "building" letter/email today Joe, when did actually order it? how long has it took to be built?

I agree with John's idea regarding the insurance.

I didnt get the free 7days Insurance from Citroen as I apparently live in a crime ridden area, Never knew South London was that bad lol

Apparently mine was built a whole week ahead of schedule, Citroen now scrambling to get it to me before the end of the month for their "targets".
Im hoping they offer me the 7 days free insurance, trying to save as much money as possible, at 22 the insurance is darn high!

                        Good luck bud =/

I'm 21 and was told my premium was too high for the underwriters to insure me.
