Key insert

My new DS3 came without a key insert. It was a pre-reg. Is the insert an extra or should I be asking the dealer for one? I notice they are only £7 on eBay anyway

I've just checked the brochure and I should have got an insert. Best ask for one then

I got one with a coloured insert (grey to match my dash) and the other key was 'naked'. Both are plip keys. I bought a ruby red insert on ebay for, as you say, about £7. My dealer was a total cheapskate about letting me have another, seemed a tad miffed about the discount I negotiated!

I got a naked plip key and a bog standard spare. I'll drop them an email and see if they'll part with one for me. I did get a free Arnold Clark trolley coin key ring mind but when I went in today for a new number plate I noticed they give out free mints and sunglasses too. Feel hard done by now!

Both of mine are plip keys as I have the alarm upgrade.

It's real penny-pinching but that's the way Citroen seem to supply keys, clearly on the pretext of allowing you to 'customise' and pay for the privilege!

I could buy 500+ inserts with the discount I managed to negotiate but i still get nighlef by the key thing!

All remote keys should be complete with a coloured bit. If you don't have one, your dealer either forgot or is trying to rip you off. I've had 2 new DSports and both came with 2 complete keys.

To be fair the coloured top for the key is not placed into the equipment bag by Citroen when the cars are delivered, normally it is on it's own somewhere in the car and as a result they do go missing from time to time. My bet is that somewhere in the boot area is the original one

Still regardless I would have expected the dealer to have ordered a replacement fob topper.

I'll go and ratch about in the boot. My air freshener and locking nut was all they handed over.
