The heating of the car using the AC is much more efficient IMHO and you don't get condensation.

This and use it more in winter time, the AC is also a de-humidifier as well so it will remove moisture from the air, very useful for those cold Scottish mornings I get around here!

Yeah, I can see in the hand book recommends all year round AC in AUTO mode. Makes you wonder how I've managed these last 20 years or so, driving 15000 miles a year with Volvo, Renault, Ford, VW, Vauxhall, Audi, Kia & Citroen cars and none of them started the AC automatically? Good to have a banter with you guys, ha. I'll ask around to see what others are doing with AC, couple of guys nearby with Citroens too. I could be in the minority here. Let you know.

Even if you opt not to use it you should ran it for at least 10 minutes a month to avoid problems later on.

Thanks for the advice. Photos attached now - one showing average mpg of 47.8 over the first 1259 miles. It would be good to hear from another owner of a Puretech 1.2 turbo about the gear changing now.

Mine is exactly the same on my 15 plate 1.2 puretech, I'm currently achieving around 44mpg but think this could be improved if I could get used to these gear changes and lower my revs, it's all grand when changing in moving traffic etc but I really struggle when pulling off from junction/traffic lights etx trying to build my speed quickly so no time for fancy gear changes, I also find the car wants me to change few the first few gears very fast, do you find this?

If you're referring to the gear change indicator, it's designed to put you in the most fuel efficient gear for the speed and throttle position you're in. Usually wanting you below 2k revs. I ignore mine most of the time, lol.

At least the gear indicator isn't as bad as in my mum's Civic. It always tells you to change up. Wants you to be in 6th at 30mph...

The new MX-5 is similar, I ignored it though and just drove everywhere in 2nd for the noise!
