  • Damaged splitter

    Howzit guys,

So I managed to introduce the front splitter to a rock and came off second best yesterday. Any ideas on how to fix it, or is a new one required? :-S

Mmmm I guess it depends on your body shop skills really, you can buy various types of filler (you'd want smooth flexible filler) at car part shops that could be worked into the dinks/scratches and then smoothed down. After that you'd need to try and colour match the splitter black with a spray can available to buy.

I'd probably get the filler on, smooth it off when dry and then remove the splitter and apply primer/black top coat to the whole thing until you're happy with the finish.

The other option is to fit a new one

      Cheers dude!

Body shop skills are not the greatest, but I'm always keen to tinker away. I'll give it a shot, and if it doesn't work out too well - I could look at some effective vinyl placement maybe. Then if all else fails, I'll look at getting a new one I think.

I could always rope in the maintenance man from work... hmm.

No worries, I'm no expert but I've repaired bumpers, wing mirrors etc like this in the past - any questions let me know. It's quite straightforward though....

Can't see the picture but I bet it's nothing a sharpie couldn't fix
