  • How would i go about getting my DS3 THP to pop and bang like my brothers JCW?

So, overall I'm happy with my DS3 THP DSport (Even though I've had timing chain issues, and am currently having issues with a rattle in the turbo (Wastegate possibly) and with the odd clutch groan when reversing/pulling off in 1st (release bearing possibly)

But, i wish the exhaust sounded a bit meaner. I mean, not not super loud Corsa boy racer style, but i'd close to mimic my brothers crazy JCW exhaust sound. What i love about it is the constant pops and bangs it gives off.

I've found this video of a DS3 doing something similar, I'm just wondering how i would go about achieving this sound? Also, does anyone have videos of their DS3 on YouTube which has some kind of custom exhaust which does this?

    Thanks for your help!

I can't get the video to load but the still looks like a standard backbox.

Aw, that's a shame! It sounds pretty mean. Yeah, the description does say that it's the standard exhaust but without the "middle box" I'm guessing he means the central muffler. I'm just wondering whether just an exhaust change would give the pops and bangs a JCW do but I'm assuming it's part of the JCW's ECU that takes part in that too?

Just a milltek cat back will go along way towards what your looking for but would need full exhaust system including cat to get what you seem to be looking for plus maybe a remap

            Thanks for your help.

From the videos I've seen of the Milltek only a little few have given the pop and bangs like the video above so I'm not sure what else they've had done.

Decat will be the fastest way to this along with a remap.

No point dropping silly money on an exhaust just for the brand.

Yep, unless you need a new exhaust or you have the cash spare.

Haha, that's good to hear. I understand that it's good to get a 3rd party exhaust if you're getting say SPTunings 190BHP remap for the increased airflow that's necessary, but hopefully just a decat won't cause any restrictions!

Ah, MOT didn't even cross my mind! Guess it's going to be hard to achieve the JCW exhaust sound I'm looking for i guess haha.
