  • CW Type R to DS3 THP??

Well firstly let me say a big HELLO!

i've been hanging around these lovely forums for a while now and have decided i best introduce myself

Due to the ever increasing cost of fuel and the over heavy nature of my right foot, coupled with a generally short daily commute, i think its time for a change of motor.

I only stumbled across the DS3 a couple of weeks ago, but have already spent several hours at the local dealers and hours and hours pouring over tinternet!

The car i fancy is the THP pretty much fully loaded, in White with a Black roof and Plane graphics with White dash etc (still undecided on seats though)

My question really is has anyone else made a similar move and if so how are they finding the differences?

Its driving me nuts (forgive the pun lol) and keeping me awake at nights now, we need to make a decision quick as the Type R will need servicing in May and Taxing etc. So not only can we reduce the running costs but we can also make a nice saving straight away.

    Thanks for reading

I'm in a similar predicament -on the verge of switching to a DS3 diesel from a Merc SLK 230 Kompressor 6-speed (petrol), but am sick to death of the rising cost of fuel which is mostly spent on my daily commute. I saw the DS3 about a fortnight ago and I'm smitten. Just finalising the many many options!

        Go for it.

I looked around at a lot of motors before deciding on the DS3. All the reviews were good and it has a distinctive look. I was fed up of looking at Fiestas and Fabias and i20s and various other boring me-too motors. It has a great combination of looks, quality, options, performance and economy - how could you possibly go wrong?

Now eagerly awaiting my DSport HDI in mativoire beige with black roof (well, I am 64).

I swapped from a Mondeo ST220 to a DS3 White HDi only yesterday. In terms of sheer grunt OK there's no comparison, but in terms of driving fun I'm actually enjoying the DS3 more, though that may be just the novelty of having a new car.
I do miss some of the bells & whistles on the ST but if you are going a la carte then you can load up the features anyway. So far I'm very pleased with the DS3.

PS my local petrol station aren't as impressed haha!

hi and welcome, lots of people seem to be coming to the ds3 from other manufacturers and different size cars. Surely this is a great thing for Citroen. The DS3 brought me to Citroen otherwise I wouldnt have bought French again I dont think. I would have liked the White edition to have been a limited run as it seems quite a popular choice. Dont want it to become a mini!
