  • Bluetooth pairing query

    Hi folks,

Recently my phone has stopped automatically connecting to my DS3 & I don't know why? I'm having to manually pair them and put in an authentication mode every time I get in the car. I've not updated my phone or the software in the car so I've no idea why this has started happening. Anyone any ideas why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

    Thanks!

Have you got more than one phone showing in the paired list? Sometimes, that can make it glitchy. Other than that, I'd delete your phone from the paired list and start again, if you haven't already. Maybe that'll kickstart it to start playing nice again.

I've only ever paired my phone but I'll try delete it off and pair it from scratch, thanks

Oddly it seems to have sorted itself now and is pairing normally again lol. So strange!

It doesn't surprise me. Sometimes, I get in my car and it doesn't pair automatically, so I turn off the radio and turn it on again and voila!

So odd haha. Another issue I've had and especially noticing it more now that winter is coming in is that my front windscreen seems to always be a bit fogged up? It'll clear if I press the full blast button on the dash but as soon as that's off and even if I have the fan pointing only at the windscreen it starts clouding up again :/ have you had this issue?

I get that with my windscreen, can't seem to find a balance that keeps it clear.

Have you got your air con on recycle? If so turn the recycle off so that it draws fresh air from out side of the car and can get rid of the humidity in the car.

That's what I was going to say! Also, I find, and always have since I started having cars with aircon, that it's best to leave the aircon on all the time in cold/inclement weather. You never get any misting up if you do that, and for what it costs in extra fuel (if indeed it does), who cares? Just my humble opinion.

Hi everyone, I've got a similar problem with Bluetooth, basically every time I get in a car I need to connect it manually and enter the code, even if I turn off the engine for a second and start again I still have to put the code on the phone and then in the car. Anyone experienced the same? If so do you know how to fix it?

I leave my AC on Auto (set to 20) throughout the winter, this pretty much keeps it clear except on cold mornings when I get in and body heat makes the windscreen a little foggy. A quick blast of the windscreen switch and all back to normal within a minute or two

GregR - did you try to delete the phone and then repair it ? You could also disconnect the battery lead for a few mins to clear the radio (incl your presets ) and see if that helps ?

I'll try start putting my air con on then guys. I already have it set to let fresh air in so it's not that that's the issue!

Bear in mind that A/C acts like a de-humidifier and thus keeps the moisture out of the car - the cause of the foggy windows on cold days.

That's true! I just tended to keep the ac off because of fuel consumption but I'd rather have a clear screen for the sake of 2-3mpg lol
