Hey guys and gals, compliments of the season to all!

My DS3 is back after replacing the friction wheel but now my coolant fan just stays on on startup and shutdown and the strange thing is the temp gauge doesnt rise above a quarter? We triple checked the computer diagnostic and found no problems at all. Does anyone perhaps know what's causing this?

I don't feel safe driving her in this state and make me saaaaad

After warming up, my temp gauge stays just below the middle so faulty temperature sensor would be my guess.

Ok cool, shouldn't the diagnostics have detected that it's faulty?

We replaced the friction wheel which I believe is what your referring to as it dynamically applies friction to the water-pump pulley intern chaining the amount of water being circulated at any given point in time. I suspect the Temp sensor is giving the fan an incorrect reading. Taking her to the dealer to see if they can find anything else that we couldn't.

Try thermostats aswell.. mine done this and I took it up the motorway well into triple figures for about 6 miles. . Then did it only go above quoter but when I pulled over it started dropping but my turbo was glowing red.. turned out be thermostats. . I could be wrong in your case but it's another option

The dealer has established that the Inlet tank and all temp sensors along with the water pump and the coolant system harness will need to be replaced. this is costing me R5000 and isn't a cheap fix. thanks for all the suggestions guys, spot on!

Really? Sounds like they don't know where the fault is and are replacing "everything".
