Does look better in the natural light photos, as others have said will see what it looks like in the metal. I saw a facelifted DS4 the other day and despite not looking much cop in the photos it's still a very nice looking car but there is more visual interest in the DS4 shape to start with.

Really bizarre they've Peugeot'd it though the different colours don't really disguise the new wheel design it also ever so familiar.

Really like the front- think its good. Be nice to see in the flesh. May well pop down the dealers and have a look

Its a little bit "Aygo" ish, but overall the front is meaner and has more to it. Love the grill

My disappointment is that the rest of the car hasn't changed much. Don't get me wrong, its still a good design, as any iconic car is

      Would I get one.

      Yes.

Depends on what the highest spec petrol engine is, and whether its a THP. (May have missed some stuff)

Roll on DS3 number 3 for me?

Sort of looks like its sucking in a breath and holding it, front wise.

I`m sure Jeremy Clarkson would have pulled one of his faces to demonstrate the new grille and front end if he had still been presenting T.G. !

I have to agree it looks better in the daylight photographs, the lighting at the launch didn't do it credit, will reserve judgement until I see it in flesh.:bow:

OK, after the initial shock here's my 2 cents.
After letting it sink in for a few hours, I think it actually isn't too terrible, but that's about all the positive I can say about it.
They just glued a new style on it's face, and you can clearly tell, there's no harmony going on at the front. It also looks like the grille sits a little bit too low, like it has slid down it's face. Looks a bit like a Bane mask. Furthermore there's too much chrome going on for my taste, but that seems to be the DS way.
I mention the DS way, but it actually looks like some sort of Peugeot or Renault now.
On the performance edition, it looks somewhat better (because it's not chrome?), but a sportier version always looks better, no matter how ugly the original car is, so maybe that's not saying much.
I do like that there is a new overall name for the sporty range of DS models "DS Performance". I was always wondering what would replace "Citroen Racing". Kinda weird they dropped the vertical stripe under the side mirrors though. I thought that was going to be a signature for the "Performance" models? It's a shame, I liked that.

I don't think I'm a fan... then again I wasn't a fan of the current DS3 in pictures. I walked into the dealership to buy a Fiesta and seen the DS3... bought it there and then
I make cars go quicker then take photos of them.

I'm not sure about this to be honest, it looks too much like a Peugeot 208. I like my current one anyway :-P

So been thinking about this since last night.

Here we are, a community of owners that has seen the 2009-2015 DS3 from every angle, in pretty much any colour combination! We know every detail of the front and that's embedded in our minds as THE DS3. Of course it looks a bit drastic at first, kind of like when your Dad, who for as long as you've known his face suddenly shaves off his beard (I've still not got over the shock) It was WEIRD! But after the initial ERRHHMERRRGERRD WHAT HAS HAPPENED has worn off you start to look deeper and closer at what they have done.

As mentioned it now has its own identity as the DS3, externally it is now vastly different to the C3, in March 2010 when I got my first one I could barely tell them apart. How little did I know.....

It now sits next to its big brother and sister well and nestled under their influence they've got the DS3's back. There style and tech along with design features can only do good for the car we love and know. The details we knew where coming such as the wings grill is there, there is definitely more flare than the 4 and 5 changes.

And we definitely got more than what we expected when renders starting popping up over the years.

Worth having a mess about with different angles and colours online

Comparisons fly in to other cars, but with X amount of front ends out there, and a limited amount of front bumper canvas to work with around things already there there is bound to be something that nods slightly to something else. But the new DS3 is not just a Citroen anymore. I think we have fared pretty well to what we love and know and what what we will grow to know and appreciate. The DRL's that set the car apart from anything on the road are still there, imagine the if they had been changed!

Over the years we have seen things we love and hate, the lights for example - both front and rear. I know it's only a minor change, but people still had their own opinion on them.

The change may deter fans of the 09-15 model, but it may attract a whole new collective of people who didn't like the first one. Every one has unique tastes and what appeals to them. New places to wrap, new themes, colour options and mods.

What ever happens, I know we will have an awesome mix of DS3's and owners on DS3Club no matter what they look like and what we prefer Just look at how well I accepted Liam's appearance!!

Oh god! I hadn't seen any pictures/renders of the new face with the old/cheaper headlights. That's just a horrible frankensteinian combination! I thought the old headlights would be gone now?

Have to say, I like it a lot more today than I did last night, now I've seen it in other colours/from other angles.

And Joni, I bawled my eyes out when my Dad shaved his beard off, and refused to go anywhere near him! I was only about a year old at the time though

This is a very disappointing, almost bodged, facelift that poorly combines two different design philosophies. I think 2016 will be the year I'll be saying goodbye to my DS3 and DS Automobiles.

I guess there is only so much you can do when given the need to graft the new DS corporate face onto the old Citroen car. Can not have a DS luxury brand car with a plebeian Citroen face now can we. I am sure it's complete redesign under the DS Brand will be more harmonized in appearance. Only time will tell.
