  • Exterior plastics

I've found that on the exterior plastics running between the bonnet and doors they have what looks to be chemical staining. What is the best way to remove this and to restore the plastic?

Could be salt from the roads?

If its the matte plastic, I recommend Auto Glym Bumper Restore. Removes marks, cleans and adds a protective layer

Or Auto Glym Vinyl Cleaner is good for cleaning and protection after you have washed your car.

Try this stuff. I used it when my plastics started to become discoloured with white markings and it worked a treat.

I've been hunting round for something for the trims on mine. There are so many products out there for different jobs (far too many lol) I have read some good reviews about this one, but this review sticks in my head the most of the comparison shots and it doubles up as a tyre gel too! Yet another item I need to order lol.

If I remember correctly I used either turpentine or isopropyl alcohole to clean the black taped parts. It's just dirt, the plastic itself is fine. If you use turpentine, be careful as it dissolves the plastic a little bit. Do not use acetone, that will dissolve paint too.
