Interior Footwell Lighting

Hi all,

Does anybody know if it's possible to disable the footwell and ashtray lighting at all?

I can't stand the orange colour and the only way I've found to turn them off is by having my speedometer at it's lowest lighting setting (which at night isn't great for me!) The car is due to go in for it's 50,000 mile service so I ownder also if this is something Citroen can disable with a lexia tool?

I think they go off in Dark mode? But this will turn other dials etc off.

Could take the bulbs out? But I'm sure someone will know of a better solution!

I'll definitely have a look at taking the bulbs out!

I just hope that doesn't throw up any error codes

Mine were very dim,so I put brighter bulbs in,so maybe dim bulbs is a good compromise?

Tbh i changed mine for two blue led strips as they match the car.

it takes nothing to unplug them anyway just a plug under the carpet which comes off with two clips.

but i no longer have a dark button so can dim them :0

wouldn't mind knowing about the ashtray one as i want a blue bulb.

I took out the light units and installed ones that are made for the boot. Same light but with a white lens instead of orange

On mine the bulbs are clear,the plastic rectangular covers are orange,would be simple to change covers and reduce bulb output too.

The astray bulb is a inline led bulb that's a funny shape you would have to cut and splice the wires to fit a different bulb
If you look right at the bottom of the picture you can just make it out it's the long funny shaped bulb on a green wire has it clips into the back of the astray

I finally got round to attemting taking the bulbs out and good news, there is no error messages whatsoever!

I couldn't figure out initially how to remove the light from the centre (above the ashtray bit) but after removing the footwell bulbs on both sides this has now stopped illuminating?!

Good news because it would have driven me crazy but I really don't understand the technology behind this.

How easy was it to remove the front facia? I have the different dials and want to change the bulb to match the other blue bulbs

Did you take the white light cover type thing from the boot? I can't find a white lens cover anywhere and just turned the orange bit over for a blue glow (Blue bulb) But on rough roads it wobbles and then drops down to my feet

The front facia just pulls straight off to the rear. White lens light assembly from the boot ordered from local citroen dealer. They are cheap.
