Paint warranty and corrosion

Hello guys, i decided to start this topic so everyone can write their own experiences with their DS3 and problems with paint and corrosion.
I am a bit confused here too and i want if someone can and has any experience with this to make it more clear.

I am looking for a ds3 2010-2011 or maybe 2012 model. Is the warranty for corrosion etc. valid for 12 years? I know there is an inspection that needs to take place on year 4, what if the car is 5 years old and there is nothing like that in the service book? Is the warranty invalid? If i am buying a 2012 car can i take it for inspection? Are the wheels covered for 12 years too? I found something online saying that wheels are not cover for longer than the standard warranty of the car.

I thought your paint was only covered for 3 years under warranty

I think there are 2 different warranties, one for paint and a different one for corrosion from the body of the car.

The corrosion warranty is for 12 years, if an inspection was missed then Citroen can deny to honor the 12 year corrosion warranty. Depending on circumstance they may take care of a problem out of "Good will"

Wheels are being covered under the normal 3 year new car warranty. Some have also been replace after the warranty has expired but that is not a sure thing believe being done on a case by case bases by the dealer. Can't hurt to try though.

Just to add to the above I don't believe a bodywork inspection is due in the 1st 3 years of the life of the car or at least the docs don't mention it. I seem to recall the first mention of it is year 4 in the service book.

Paint warranty and corrosion

Had my first DS3 for over 4 years any never had any problems with paint or any corrosion. That was a 2011 model.

My wife's 2014 has a very pitted black roof with the white showing through.Citroen won't honour as a warranty fault as over 3 years old !! We even had Safe Guard put on at time of purchase from Pentagon.Never ever buying Citroen again !

If the paint is showing through it sounds like the wrong cleaning products have been used.

What part of the door

It depends on whether you have stuck to the paint perforation warranty rules as set out in the user details (Manual)
I think that involves getting the paint checked every certain amount of years- if you are not 4 years u may well be within range to get bad paintwork sorted

Hi just wondering how this turned out, I bought a ds3 last year and the rust round the mirrors and bottom of door is quite bad , I think the place I bought it from had painted it . Not sure what to do , I did not get any service records with the car, they initially said they had them then the dealership hadn't passed them on then when I pressed them they said they had none but I had taken delivery of the car by then .

any help would be appreciated

Paint warranty lasts 6 years from date of first registration. Car also needs to have been inspected regularly by Citroen to make a paint warranty valid. All in the handbook

If it was a private sale your pretty much stuffed- sold as seen. If you got from a dealer, go back to them

You could always fit a new door from a breakers yard- not hard to do
If you look long enough you will even get the colour you want
