  • My DS3 Racing Engine Noise?

    Hi guys,

After looking around on the forum, noticed a lot of people mentioning the Timing Chain and tensioner on the THP engines. I think I need a new tensioner, just wondering what you all thought?

It's the tensioner. Go to your garage and let it change it before it damages the engine
Had the same problem 1 week ago (THP155, 18600 miles) :/

It doesn't go away, just gets quieter. I have a really rough idle aswell, especially when I have the climate control on Auto.
Had new Chain Kit when I had my engine rebuild 8,000 miles ago!
I thought it would be so got one on order, booked in for Monday to get that done and a service. Wish these THP's weren't so troublesome!

Get it to the garage Mike. You know it's not normal yourself otherwise you wouldn't be asking

Let us know how you get on.

Does anyone know how easy one is to change on mine? Labour wise?

That sounds like the water pump making that noise.

Well took it into the garage today and they said the timing chain and everything is fine?
Engine rattle is noticeable and also, when under load, in low revs there is a constant loud low grumble but dissapears above 2K revs? Any ideas?
