I also have this - lots of tiny rust coloured circles. I looked on the internet and it seems to match something called rail dust, basically particles of metal which land on your car and then rust. It is more noticeable on light cars and can be removed with a clay bar. I showed my dealership and they just commented on how small and insignificant the areas were and said that a body polish would sort it but they would not do this under warranty.

That is tiny but Citroen should be correcting it free of charge and under warranty

i reckon a really fine polish would get that out in no time. if they cleaned the car properly before you collected it should have been noticed. i would question how thorough there new car preparations are. i no if i'd prepped that car and not noticed it i would be getting a bollocking off the sales manager aswell as the valetors.

i did check the car and did not notice it, it was on the 3rd day of having it, the first time I washed/waxed the car when I noticed it, when you rub your finger along it, it feels like its down to the metal, tried cleaning it but it wont budge as the actual paint work has gone.

Dealer just said for me to pop it into the dealership and they will take a look

                  I have the same!
Mine appear as dark hard spots that you can feel
They wash off leaving a tiny red dot on the paint
My research led me to believe it is generally brake dust or other similar contaminant - these tiny flakes quickly rust hence the colour.
I had gardx put on so was surprised to see them but in theory the stain is not actually on the paint
A gentle rub with tcut brought it off but think will get something gentler to use as too much tcut will remove the gardx
Off to find a thread on White paint detailing now

I have spoken to the dealer and they want to see it on Monday, il post what they say. I would try and t-cut it but when you rub your finger along it, its eaten quite a bit of the metal work away, seems like around 3-4mm deep!

Monkey, I've got the same thing on mine. There are 'rust' spots around the rear wiper and mainly on the boot lid but there are a couple on the rear wings.

I mentioned it to the dealer before I took the car and they said they'd sort it but haven't done.

It's back in tomorrow so will check with them then.

Are you sure they are not tar spots? When I use this it will lighten the black as it rubs off to this colour (in your photo), then finally clean and tar free.

Just soap an a sponge wont shift it though.

                          Just an idea?

Sure they're not tar, I noticed it in the showroom and the car has only been delivered from the factory there so not been on the roads, also in too odd a place for tar. Off to Citroen now, will keep you posted.

Ok, just got home with my car minus the orange spots! The workshop guy told the salesman that it was "contamination" but that he has used some "special stuff" to get it out.

                                Hasn't that enlightened us all?

I think essentialy that there must be some so called contamination that polish has removed but looks good now!

At least its been confirmed that its not a paint defect or rust.
