Mystery button

Does anyone know what this button on the end of the stalk is for?



Pressing it does nothing (as far as I can tell) and I don't see any mention of it in the manual, on the other stalk is a similar button which controls the trip counter. Maybe it's some sort of Twilight Zone thing and every time I press it something weird happens.

It adds 1 to a counter each time you press it. When the counter reaches 3141 the ejector seat will fire.

It's not actually a button is it ? Well it's not on mine, it looks like one but has no spring function in it so I assume it's just to match the other side stalk for aesthetics

when you use your navigation and you press the button it will tell you the next navigation instruction

Sure, why not. Definitely the passenger seat.

Mine isn't, the button on the right stalk feels completely different to the one on the left.....

a bit off topic but does anyone know how to remove this button from the stalk or the complete stalk?

The button accesses voice commands on the new DS3 as well as instruction repeat for those with Sat Nav.
