    Hi Everyone

I've been on the forum for a while but not really posted much as I haven't got a DS3 yet :-( I don't feel a part of the forum team yet. I have loved reading different posts on here and I've picked up some good tips, it's a brilliant forum.
I have been looking for a DS3 for a few months now, I really want a auto box as I have a shoulder problem and gear changes in my Mini Cooper becoming annoying.
I have looked at different cars and the DS3 is the only one that stands out, but the autos are hard to come by. I'm looking at a 2013ish model, although I have seen the new ones and I'm thinking...... mmmm nice! Is the 1.2 puretech better to buy than 1.6? Also I have heard the insurance can be a lot more on the puretech, is this correct?
I would like a white one and have only just noticed there are two listed, "polar white" and "pearl white" is there much of a difference?
    Any help will be great.
Thanks guys, love the forum :-)

Polar white is flat white, Pearl white is pearlescent and is as cost option. The difference would be it has reflective particles in the finish extremely hard to photograph, think halfway between white and silver.
    My pearlescent white car:

Not sure why a 1.2 puretec would be more to insure given they are similar in terms of speed and cost. I'd recommend go comparing both?

Thanks for that, I guess it's hard to see the difference in colours on the Citroen website. Yes I thought it was strange that the 1.2 puretech would be more to ensure, but it has different insurance groups on their website and in reviews it says to be careful when insuring a 1.2 puretech as it could be higher.
Oh well I guess it doesn't matter too much if you are driving with a smile on your face :-)
      Cheers

The insurance prices for some models don't make sense, I'm sure when Wes looked up the DS3 Racing his insurance was cheaper than his (then current) DStyle 120 (Evil Edition MK1).

That was cos the insurer knew the Racing would be in for repairs most of the time and not being driven

Thank you for the kind words

Is the 1.2 puretech better to buy than 1.6? Also I have heard the insurance can be a lot more on the puretech, is this correct?

Is this just in the Auto range?

On the newer (June 2015 on) 1.2 Puretech, it has a turbo and the previous 1.6 petrol that it has replaced (in most cases) didn't have this. So I'm not sure if that is where the difference is coming from.

Have you looked into the Dark Light Edition?

I would like a white one and have only just noticed there are two listed, "polar white" and "pearl white" is there much of a difference?

I'll post some pics from my phone, the pearl white is lovely. The white is obviously also lovely (I'm on my second) but compared to the pearl it can look a but flat if you know what I mean.

                White

Taken on the same day and same light so might help compare!

Thanks for your reply and great pictures, I can see a slight difference in the two colours.

That makes sense with the insurance being more if it now has a turbo, I was reading reviews on the puretech and it did mention about the insurance being higher, I don't think it was specifically an auto box review.
But also on Citroens website the insurance groups differ so much and I can't figure out why this is, whether it's that accurate anyway.

Yes I have looked a bit at the Dark Light models but because they are a lot more expensive I haven't read too much on them. I really wanted a white model and I don't think the Dark Light model comes in white, is this correct? I love the look of the lights though, maybe you can convince me to buy this model :-)

                  Cheers
