Looking to buy my first DS3

Hello guys,

I have just part ex'd my BMW 120d MSport for a 62 reg Citroen DS3 DSport 1.6 HDI.

Are the any common faults with these that I might need to look out for?

I tried uploading a picture of the car on this thread but it won't let me, uploads to 100% and then says 'waiting for www.ds3club.co.uk' and then nothing happens.
Do you know what I'm doing wrong? The picture is below the file size upload limit.

Welcome. Two things off the top of my head are: rear exhaust bracket is prone to rust and possible rust or paint bubbles on the doors.

Also corrosion around the centre caps on the wheels.

Welcome! With the Diesel engine you have a strong,willing power plant that will go on for years and years with care and regular servicing! Plus it is good for a remap if you want a bit more power and much more reliable than the petrol engines have been on the whole.If you have an eHDI 115 for instance,with a good remap you can expect 140 to 150bhp! A performance panel filter will also help and is a simple modification.

The only problem I had was a respray of my black roof when the paint bubbled,this was done free of charge under warranty.

Mine needed a new alternator after 54,000 miles. Not sure that was a common fault as such, but the "engine fault: repair needed" is a more common alert.

I've had 2 1.6 diesels, first one 65000 miles, second one 70000 miles and still going, no issues with either, just ordered third, pick up July

I've had a 115 eHDi for almost three years now, Citroen have replaced three of the Bellone alloy wheels due to corrosion (white tracks on the polished parts of the wheels), a radio head unit due to crackly bluetooth/usb playback but other than that the car has been brilliant

If you need more power speak to Jamie at SP Tuning (a member of the forum) for a remap, mine now has 145bhp and is so much better/smoother to drive than the standard Citroen map....
