  • Switching the radio on when the engine is off

    Hi :-)
Picked up my DS3 on Tuesday and I LOVE it, but the fact that you can't have the radio on when the engine is off I'd kinda bugging me! I like to sit in my car on my lunch break and listen to the radio and also on the school run I have to get there a bit earlier to park and I don't like sitting there with the engine on.
Does anyone know how it works? It's one of those touch screen things.

It is one of the eco things they have, if I remember correctly the radio will stay on for a period of time which depends on how long you have had the engine running

If anyone knows please enlighten us all!

If you DS is one with the touchscreen then the Eco mode kicks in really early to avoid drain on the battery.

Have you tried putting the ignition into accessory mode?

Glad to hear you love it so far!

It will play for a max of 30 mins if there is enough juice stored up before the Eco kicks in... I think. Well my old one used to....

Could always listen to the radio on your phone? Not ideal, but its better than silence.

This is annoying me as well, I can't find any way to turn the radio on with the ignition off. I'm often sat in the car waiting to pick kids/wife up. Every car I've had up to this one I could listen to the radio with no probs. My C3 use to switch off after listening for 30 mins with the ignition off, which is acceptable.

I hope someone finds out how to get around this.
