  • Best tyres for mixed conditons

Tyres are just about past it so I'm in the market for a new set.

The car is currently on budget tyres, it understeers like a pig at even the slightest hint of rain. Living in not so sunny Scotland, wet conditions are more common than dry.

Been reading reviews on potenzas and apparently they arent too great in the wet, can anyone recommend an alternative ?

    Thanks

Michelin Pilot Sport 3 have been on mine since new and they're great all round. Grippy, quiet and if you shop around reasonably priced

205/45R17 88W DUNLP SPMAXX RT XL
B rating on fuel on B rating on wet with 66db...£105 each corner. doesn't seem too bad to me.

I'd been looking at the Pilot sports, can get the 4's for near enough the same price, not sure how much of an improvement they are though.

Will look up the dunlops, seems a good price!

I've got Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 on mine IIRC, they came on the car new but have been great.

Michelins if your feeling rich, Uniroyal rainsport 3's are VERY impressive for the money at nearly half the price!

The Michelins were £80 each when I replaced two of mine, some things (like tyres and brakes) I don't mind paying for premium

I have these fitted, a quiet ride compared to most tyres, even as run flats.
However, in very light rain they do suffer a bit in corners.
dry weather or very wet weather they are decent tyres

Goodyear Eagle f1a3 or a2 if not available, or Continental ContiSportContact 5

I'm on these and I love them. Do you know that Uniroyal are a subsidiary of Continental? I like them better than Contis now I've had them on a couple of times and I never used to buy anything but Continentals.

Probably wouldnt mind paying the 20-30 quid extra for the pilot sports over the uniroyals. Anything has to be better than whats on the car just now
