  • THP engine clean

So my car seems to be showing the starting signs of carbon build up (occasionally idling rough, and sometimes hesitates under heavy acceleration)

Seeing as my car is still under warranty, what's the chances of me getting Citroen to actually take the car in to clean the engine? Any advice to say? It needs to go in for an issue with the brakes anyway (pedal constantly spongy despite bleeding, points to a vacuum pump, master cylinder or calipers issue) so I could bring this up at the same time

    Thanks all!

I'd try calmly explaining that you've been researching this issue and it appears that it needs a walnut blast.... I'll be very surprised if they can't find the same information with a quick Google

What did you decide to do? Did you ask the garage to clean it?

Booked in next Tuesday, they said they'd take a look at the engine too so I'll request they use a boroscope and see inside properly

Maybe maybe not depends on how bad it has gotten. The symptoms that one feels as described tend to appear a bit before it gets bad enough to through a code. Then break a piston. Then go back and forth with who is paying for the new engine.
