  • Throttle issues on Dsport 110

    Hi Guys

I have had my DS3 for some 8 months now but there are a few issuse that are bugging me and a new issue i have just found so looking for some help please.

1 : When i change gear there is a 1/2 second spot where the car dont move, like a flat spot, only happens when changing gear but is a pain as i might be in second gear then change down to 3 but as i change nothing happens
for a few seconds then it kicks in and were off, the cam belt has been changed under warranty as it was in a poor state but this issue was there before it was changed

2 : if i am driving at say 30mph and take my foot or the accelerator the car jolts like the engine has disengaged and rpm just drops, then when i put my foot back down it jolts again then starts to drive.

3: Noticed this this morning, while in idle i put my foot down very slow and the rpm jumps from 800 - 1200 not smooth but jumps, also if i hold my foot still when at 1200 the rpm will slowly start to rise until it
get to around 3500 and stay there, if i then push my foot down noting happens until the pedel gets to where it should be at 3500 then carrys on going up the revs until i take my foot of.

I hope you can all understand what i am talking about :-)

    Thanks
    Tez

Hmmm, I'm sure some people will be along soon with some techy help!

With point one - Do you mean it doesn't accelerate rather than not move? I know in my DS3, if I am below the revs where my turbo kicks in, it will be slow until the revs pick up again and we're off as you say. Just tweeks with driving style.

    Good old Turbo lag?

    My DS3R3... nearly....

I'm not techy at all so this is a guess but has the clutch and gearbox been checked ? What year is your car and what is the mileage ?

Could be the crankcase breather pipe. Is there any oil at all on the rocker cover, or around the nearside of the engine? It won't need to be much.
