  • Clean Exhaust Tip

Hey guys, does anyone know the best way to clear dirt and corrosion from the exhaust tip and get it back to a decent shine?
Since I got the car (34000 miles) the exhaust tip has been corroded and stained with soot and dirt.
Soap, water and brasso don't seem to be cutting it, does anyone have any suggestions?

Not sure if I want to take an angle grinder to the back of my car so close to the rear diffuser, would sandpaper do the same job?

I use Mr.Muscle Bathroom Cleaner, and a regular sponge with 'abrasive' side. let the chemical sit for a few minutes, it loosens up the buildup, then it's really easy to take off. Here's some pics

          Cheers

sure, something like 8000 maybe 6000 grit would work great. I go up to 8000 when sharpening my chisels and the irons for my planes and it leaves a mirror finish.

As do I. Awesome stuff, completely effortless, put some on a buffing pad or some sort of applicator and polish it on, then use a microfibre cloth to buff it off and it shines beautifully. Nothing worse than a dirty tip.

Do you not find at £9.99 a tub its a tad bit expensive? Good stuff yeah no doubt but no better than £3.99 metal polish. If you get it cheaper can you link me.

As long as I've known Joni she's been using the same tub. Cost effective even if it's pricier

I bought a tube of Auto Anusol (I like to call it - aka Autosol) 2 Years ago £4 think it was and use it all the time got 3 quarters of a tube left.

Be a laugh out loud moment if anyone posts a screenie of someone polishing their exhaust tip with Anusol.
