  • Stupid knob

Well I'm sat in my car unable to drive home because the gear knob is blistering hot. Not the best design is it?

It's a feature, designed to cure the bad habits of grasping the knob & trying to force it into gear & driving with your hand resting on the gear lever.

. . . and don't come back in six months' time whingeing about how cold it is!

                What's the problem? O.o
Just shift and then release the knob again...

I tried covering mine with a duster to keep it out of direct sunlight, and when I got in the car the knob was still as hot so I think its the ambient temperature of the car that heats the knob up. The other day I let my windows open slightly and my knob was a much more pleasant temperature (Missus!)

I am very happy for you that your Missus finds your knob pleasant to touch.

I'm thinking of swapping it out for a leather one. Should be better for both temperature extremes and more comfortable.
