  • Damaged Grill

    Hi

I've been keeping an eye on this forum since I picked up my brand new DS3 in April. Not had any need to post until now. I must say I love the car but I've had nothing but bad luck with it- nothing that's the cars fault- just circumstances.

So the saga begins after about 400 miles tyre pressure alarm goes off, initial thoughts - bloody Citroen they didn't bother checking it before the handed the keys over- pumped it back up and thought nothing of it, until the next morning when the tyre resembles a pancake. Nail through the side wall FFS!

Fast forward 2 weeks park in my normal space in the work car park (where I've ever had any problem) come back to a dint in the rear right wheel arch- excellent!

Then last week I'm coming home from work normal route down a fairly narrow road, again not had any problems before an impatient driver can't wait at the wider section so I stop ant they manage to scrape down the side of the car- are you f@@@@@@@ kidding me!

Surely that's it you're thinking but no- this morning heading to work and it seems a pigeon has decided that he's too beautiful for the world and sits in middle of the road to await his fate, which my car obliges by suplimemting it normal benzina only diet with some protein (see picture) in the process smashing the lower grill.

So my question is, where can I find a new lower grill for the new shape DS I don't seem to be able to find one.

    Thanks

That's a hench pidge you found! Have you asked your local dealership? There might be someone here that could help and offer a dicount at the same time:

Sorry to hear about all your adventures! I had a pigeon throw itself at my windscreen whilst travelling on the A34 on Sunday!

It actually goes in on Thursday to have the other damage repaired (on the other teams insurance) I've not asked the dealer as I assumed they'd want top whack for it. I was going to ask if the body shop would do it whilst it's in but wanted to have a rough idea of the price to make sure they don't try and over charge- otherwise I'll do it myself.

As for the site, it's been really useful I like to do my homework so was actually browsing before I committed for the DS3. So I've managed to get the dealer to switch on Apple Car Play with no charge plus a couple of extra bit of useful bits of insider info!

I'm starting to think the cars a bit of a psychopath- it's had 3 bunnies, definitely 1 pigeon and possible 2 more that were winged and flew off

Welcome, I'm wondering did your Forum name influence these events or visa versa?

Unfortunately, when these things happen you just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I once drove a different route to normal and had a herd of cows coming towards me at one point, but luckily the road was very wide and they didn't bump the car - perhaps because I stared at them as they approached! I always think in these situations, what if I left 5 mins earlier/later would it things be different - but of course we will never know!

                Enjoy the new car.
