  • Turning the radio off??????????

Am I being thick?? (don't answer that!) How do you simply power off the radio/jukebox etc on the touchscreen of the new cars??? The only way I can turn the volume off completely as far as I can see is to simply turn the volume down to zero or hold the 2 volume keys at the same time to pause the sound but the radio is still visibly on the screen displaying all the tracks that are playing...surely this can't be the case???

The reasoning behind this is simple.

The radio is not a separate module sharing a screen but a single device which runs different things. If the "radio" switch off then the whole system would have to power down.

If it makes you feel better mute the radio and then switch the screen off

The date is under the calendar option in settings.

The mute function serves as turning the music off.

In addition to the above, you should try and enjoy a takeaway cup of coffee in the car

The cars with touchscreens that I've driven have allowed the radio to be switched off without affecting other functions, so it looks as though Citroen has not done a very good job with their touchscreens!

                  Mute.

                  Switch input.

Plug in a USB full of relaxing whalesong to help you get over the lack of an off button.

                  Loads of options.

Exactly......here too. I don't why I should have to scroll though a few screens just to check on the date, or mess about muting and turning down volumes, never had to do it on any other cars touch screens I've driven. Of course it's not a big issue but it's still one of those niggly, pissy things

Oh, and I can't wait for the DS3Club comedy club to open....when do tickets go on sale?? What do you mean there is no DS3 comedy Club??? Ohhhh...now I am really disappointed.....everyone's a comedian on here so there'd be no shortage of acts! .....Come on lads!

Just trying to add some humor re the cupholder thing

There are many things that still baffle me about the DS3. This radio off thing is the latest. The other is that tiny shelf/storage area in the centre console.

*cough* the NOMAD/CONTROL unit sit lower down now because of the touchscreen but isn't as wide as a CD Player. So DS decided that rather than blank the whole front off to include a little extra storage space.
