There is a recall for some DS3s for the temperature sensor. Mine is one on the list, although I've not seen any problems with it I'll be putting it in soon for a free check over / replacement. I would take it to any Citroen dealer and ask them to check your reg for recalls before you spend out on your own replacement.

As Ben says, contact a Citroen dealer. They have done a recall on 120VTi's (others may affected) for this fault. As I understand it (the usual get-out clause!) two different types of sensor were fitted in production, only one of which causes the problem, so the recall is just a quick visual check to see which is fitted - if it's the potentially troublesome type it will be replaced free of charge even if the vehicle's out of warranty.
